Eaten Bread... Soon Forgotten? You Must Be Joking...

The last crumbs of the Tea Brack were eaten today.
The nice thing about baking for a Cookery Challenge
is that one tends to pull out all the stops.

I finally got the last detail for World Bread Day
sorted out by Midnight on Tuesday, 16th.
I was, by that time, quite stunned by all the
activity. It took until today to learn that
World Food Day is held annually on that day.
Now I'm off to find out what the history is.

This is "Semaine du Goût" in France.
There is a lot of chat about reducing sugar
in recipes on topical web pages in French
at the moment. "La ligne" is never out of fashion there.

Heavens! A real comment from a real person.
I missed World Bread Day altogether, but I almost baked rolls. Just plain old rolls to go with spaghetti, but my cold got the better of me and I laid down for a half an hour instead.
Thanks for visiting my blog.

Hmmm... I'm thinking that you have some strange people hammering upon your blog for some reason. You can delete those from the Manage Posts function, you know?

I'm glad that you made it & shared it - I'm beginning to think about making fruitcake, now that it's around the time. I'm going to do it up with something a bit stronger than tea, though. :)

Thanks for the editing tips, Davimack.

I tidied up one of my blogs, editing out redundant comments, some even my own, about a year ago. There was an unusual reaction by some posters who seemingly thought this draconian attack on "Freedom of Speech" to be so right-wing and reprehensible that some even came back several times to argue and repeat that they would not be visiting my blogs again.

These are the sort of experience that make one live and let live... and let sleeping comments lie.

It also gave me more ideas to blog about at the time.

Interesting - you see, I regard it thusly: I have the right to be quoted accurately. I do NOT have the right to be heard wherever I wish to be heard, however, so the person who objects has the right to stop me from speaking.

That's why you have the delete feature, but not the edit feature. The blogspace is yours, but you do not have the right to change what people say, only to remove it if it's objectionable.

I have removed quite a few comments in my time, and the offenders don't tend to come back, and that's OK with me. I have also stopped visiting blogs which edit my comments, explaining to them that they own the space, I own the words.

I have to admit it is not a big issue on a cooking blog. It's a minor miracle if anybody manages to find it, never mind post a comment.
