Guinness Cake for the Day That's In It...

If you make your favourite fruit cake, it can
be turned into a suitable Irish Celebration Confection
by adding Guinness.

I have not tried the recipe in the Title Bar here,
but it has a good combination of flavours, including orange
and chocolate.

For a more classic cake, add walnuts to the mixture
and when the cake comes out of the oven, souse it in
a goodly amount of stout while it is still very hot.

A Green Apple for Saint Patrick's Day

The Bramley is one of the largest and greenest
cooking apples known in Britain and Ireland.

A reminder on Saint Patrick's Day to check out
our apple trees and think of a feeding programme
that will ensure good fruit this Autumn.

Have a Great Day!
