My cookery books are, in the main, about baking.
Today, for the first time in ages, I opened
"The New Baking" by Caroline Liddell,
first published in 1988.
The recipe for "Malted Banana Bars"
is a reminder to buy a jar of malt extract.
It's ages since I remembered to use it.
